County Tournaments

The U12s beat Bloxham 4-0, New College 5-0 and Abingdon 4-1 to finish top of the group and progress through to the Regional Finals as County Champions.

The U14s had a slightly frustrating afternoon. Two good wins over Bloxham (2-0) and St Edward’s (4-1), as well as a draw v Radley, should have been enough to qualify. However, a 1-0 loss to Abingdon, who they beat 5-1 the following day, meant they finished 3rd on goal difference.

Rugby 7s

v Stowe & St Edward’s Triangular

The first outing for the Senior 7s squad saw them have a training fixture versus Stowe on Wednesday. The team managed some strong performances to win 3 out of the 5 periods played.

This was perfect preparation for the St Edward’s triangular yesterday. MCS faced teams from St Edward’s and Abingdon to continue building towards the KES Stratford and Rosslyn Park tournaments later this term.

MCS finished the morning with two wins and two losses, with the highlight being a victory over Abingdon in tough conditions.

Cross Country

Oxfordshire County Schools Championship

Congratulations to the cross-country squad who were out in force at the county championships at Radley on Tuesday. Freddie Jones, Rob Doorly, Ben Sims, Theo Cooke and Milly Troup all qualified for the regional rounds after finishing in the top 12 of their events, with Ben Sims and Rob Doorly automatically qualifying for the National competition after finishing 4th and 5th respectively. Well done to all of the rest of the team, who ran well in a beautiful and bright, but very windy afternoon.

Wellington College Relays

Full results are yet to arrive but well done to the Junior Boys team that we know finished 3rd overall.

Team of the Week

The U12 hockey side for winning their county tournament and for beating Abingdon on Saturday.
