70 of our beloved VOWs descended on MCS last Saturday for the annual VOW Lunch, with VOWs ranging from the class of 1949 to the class of 1979. This year we were particularly delighted to welcome Bridget Hickey, widow of OW Michael Hickey, as our guest of honour.
After a delicious three-course meal and a look at MCS’s archive displays, guests were then treated to a talk lead by Dr David Bebbington on his book “Goodbye Shirley”, based on the letters written by Michael Hickey (OW 1947) when he was a chorister at MCS during WWII. VOWs were all given Christmas puddings, hand made by Junior School boys, as well as a copy of Dr Bebbington’s book “Mr Brownrigg’s Boys”.
Thank you to all who attended, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
