The Waynflete Office has been informed of the death of Montague Welford by his son Anthony. We are grateful to Anthony for these words about his father’s life:
After school Montague served in the RAF for his national service, staying on for an extra year afterwards. He then moved to Coventry where he joined GEC working in telecommunications. After taking redundancy he worked part-time for Gerrard-Man enjoying the variety in delivering cars to customers.
He married Denise in the 1950s and they had two children, Amanda (deceased) and Anthony. Divorced, he later married Dorothy who passed away some 10 years before him. He was a keen supporter of his parish church.
