Kevin’s son Timothy informed the School that Kevin had sadly passed away in Taunton, Somerset on 28 January 2018 at the age of 81. Timothy provided the following words: Kevin attended MCS from 1946 to 1954. After leaving the School, which he remembered with fondness, he attended the then ‘technical college’ in Headington, before taking up a career in Local Government, initially in Amersham, then Bicester, before relocating with his family to Somerset in the early 1970’s. Living in the village of Kilve since 1971, he continued in Local Government and also became active in the village’s Parish Council, continuing with this until his death. In the 1980’s he gained his commission in the RAF (VRT), having been a civilian instructor with the local Air Training Corps squadron for a number of years previously, later becoming the squadron’s Commanding Officer. This reflected his lifelong interest in aviation, including being in the school’s CCF unit (there is still a photograph of a CCF visit to an American airbase on his study wall, with the cadets and staff stood in front of a B-47 Stratojet).
Kevin leaves his wife of 56 years, Janet, and their two children Suzanne and Timothy.
