The Waynflete Office has been informed of the death of Adam Knowles at the age of 91. Adam is survived by his wife Jean, brother Jonathan (OW 1966), sister Angela and his children Rachel, Simon, Max, Hannah and Gideon and his grandchildren.
We thank Jonathan for sending these words about his brother:
After Adam left MCS he went on to read Medieval History at Oxford because he said that not much was known about it. Â This was not correct but he enjoyed his time there very much. Â He moved on specialise in understanding the impact and meaning of messaging often in advertisements and this was his lifelong interest.
He was certainly and inspiration to my siblings and myself both professionally and through his many and wonderful medieval illuminations and helped us all to understand what we really look like to others. He had five children with his first wife Anne, all of whom had the opportunity to talk to him before he left us. For me, he inspired a lifelong passion for all things aeronautical through his magical model airplanes. He is sorely missed, particularly by his wife Jean.
