Last Friday, Magdalen Road Studios buzzed with excitement as MCS proudly hosted an OW Architects Exhibit, ‘Construct’, showcasing a decade of architectural work from Old Waynfletes.
Spearheaded by Co-Head of Art Mr Chris Otley, the event aimed to highlight the remarkable talent of OWs who have pursued careers in architecture.
The exhibit featured the work of 21 OWs, with attendees having the opportunity to admire images from architects at various stages of their careers. This included those in their second year of university, such as Jyotsni Bhattacharya (OW 2022) who is currently in her third year at Cambridge and is co-president of the Architecture Society, to fully qualified architects now working at prestigious firms, such as Tom Simmons (OW 2014), who is at Liddicoat & Goldhill.
Attendees included current MCS pupils as well as many of the OWs featured in the exhibit, with numerous pupils hoping to study architecture taking inspiration from the work and careers of those who have come before them. Even a US-based OW joined virtually to hear about the achievements of art and architecture at MCS, such is interest in the field!
