Last week, pupils from Upper Fourth and Lower Sixth had an opportunity to present their business ideas to members of the MCS Entrepreneurship Panel.

Members heard about innovative ideas across a variety of sector, from a vegan ice cream business to a gig-booking app for musicians. These pupils are part of the school’s enterprise programme, which starts in the Junior School with Young Enterprise and runs to the Sixth Form with the Waynflete Studies Enterprise Strand. The programme includes workshops on marketing, business culture, finance and making a business plan, and incorporates a mix of external speakers and visits with local businesses throughout the academic year.

The enterprise programme is now also a part of the school’s outreach, where MCS pupils and Oxford Spires Academy students are put together on teams to work on their own business projects and then pitch to a Dragons-Den-style panel.
