Big School rocked on Friday as Jazz and Blues returned with a live audience. It was a spectacular evening with superb bands from across the year groups.

The new Middle School Big Band were on impressive form and we had moving performances from Barbershop and Close Harmony and a lively Jazz Band finale. It was great fun and a lovely way for the U6th in particular to perform ahead of their exams.

On Sunday, the Close Harmony group took part in a workshop with The King’s Singers on Billy Joel’s And so it goes arranged by Bob Chilcott. They then performed the piece as the finale to the King’s Singers concert to a wonderful reception from the packed Dorchester Abbey. The concert opened with MCS’s very own Bach Street Boys who impressed everyone with It don’t mean a thing and New York New York.
