A packed house enjoyed last Friday’s Music at Magdalen Concert. The evening started with Concert Orchestra’s lively performance of Hall of the Mountain King. The variety and quality of the wind players were then heard with excellent performances from the Wind Ensemble, Clarinet Ensemble and Flute and Harp Ensemble. Symphony Orchestra next gave us a polished performance of Gershwin’s Cuban Overture. We then had a change of mood with Percussion Ensemble’s exciting renditions of Peter Gunn and Uptown Funk. The concert then finished with our two wonderful groups Jazz Club and Jazz Band, interspersed with the Close Harmony group.
