Our Activities Afternoon is designed to offer pupils additional breadth and balance in the curriculum. We have a wide range of activities on offer during the year ranging from Forest School to Climbing. Some are year group dependent, such as Martial Arts and Young Enterprise, whilst others, such as Drama and Strategy Games, are taken every child. It is wonderful time to be able to branch out into new activities near the end of a busy week and Activities Afternoon is popular with pupils, parents and staff alike.

In addition to Activities Afternoon, we run a comprehensive clubs system. On Mondays, we have clubs within our school day, with pupils having the opportunity to pick clubs from the following list: chess, natural history, word games, Lego, debating, Magdalen Blazer (our school magazine), music appreciation, ICT coding and games.
During the rest of the week, there are plenty of clubs in all areas of school life, ranging from music to sports to chess to clubs based around academic subjects. We also have a strong tradition of entering competitions to enrich our pupils’ interests further. In recent years we have reached the national finals in both literary and general knowledge competitions.
