Seven MCS Chemists and two pupils from our partner schools attended the Oxfordshire Youth Chemistry Conference on Thursday, the theme this year focusing on all things ‘nanochemistry’.

Many talks, papers, and posters were submitted by students from schools all over Oxfordshire. Excellent papers were written by Jay, Jimmie, Zeb (all Upper Fourth), Zak (Fifth Form), Lily, Lixuan, Nate and Wendy (all Upper Sixth). Rosie (Lower Sixth) created a poster on anti-ageing, and an interesting talk on nanodiamonds was delivered by Will (Lower Sixth).

Despite tough competition from over 100 other entries, Lily and Lixuan won prizes for their papers on nanoparticles and drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier, and on nanoparticles in cancer therapy. Congratulations both!
