This year’s Veteran Old Waynfletes’ Lunch was, as ever, a roaring success. Old school friends gathered in the Dining Hall on Saturday 24th November for drinks and lunch, where they were serenaded by the Junior School Choir. The boys’ beautiful renditions of carols and their cosy Christmas jumpers left everyone feeling festive. The VOWs joined in with the rousing ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ before sitting down to eat.
After amusing and insightful speeches by the Master and Bill Morris (1964), everyone retired to the Studio to watch the first version of the short Reflections film, an account of how MCS pupils and staff commemorated the First World War centenary. Archive material was on display, and the VOWs were particularly helpful in identifying their fellow classmates in old school photos.
Our thanks go to the VOWs who travelled from far and wide to return to MCS, and who made the day a truly memorable one.
