v Aylesbury Grammar School: U12A won by 8 wickets; U12B lost by 9 wickets

v Eton College: U15A lost by 16 runs; U15B lost by 65 runs

v The Oratory: 1stXI won by 140 runs. Tom Chesser took 5 wickets. The U15A won by 7 wickets and the U14A won by 132 runs, with Barney Carey scoring 121*

Tennis

OXIST

1st team finished second by only 6 games. Having lost to Abingdon, they staged a stunning fightback v Radley. They reduced a 20 game deficit to only 6; which saw them finish comfortably in 2nd. The U15As also finished second to Radley in their age group. The U14As were very impressive in winning their age group; beating Radley by 40 games and Abingdon by 56 games overall.

v Marlborough College: 2ndVI lost to their 1sts 9-0; 3rdVI lost to their 2nds 7-2; U14B lost 6-3; U14C won 5-4

v Radley: U16 As drew 6-6

Athletics

The boys’ athletics teams were all out on the track at the weekend competing at the Abingdon competition. The school finished third overall; with the Senior boys winning their age group. The Junior boys finished second in their group and the Inter boys finished 6th.

On the track for the Senior Boys Hal Burtenshaw won the 800m; Conor Rees won the 400m; Jack Aston won the 80m Hurdles. Theo Cooke came 2nd in the 1500m. Chris Tse won the shot putt and came 2nd in the discus.

In the Junior Boys, George Herbert won the Hurdles; Freddie Jones came second in the 1500m and Jack Lipman came 2nd in the 800m. Andre Ljubic won the high jump and Gabriel Esteban came second in the shot putt and discus.

Golf

v Bloxham

An enjoyable event played at Rye Hill Golf Club. The boys thoroughly enjoyed playing the match play singles event winning 3 out of 4 fixtures. The home leg will be held at Oxford GC on 13th June.

Team of the week – The U14 tennis side for winning their OXIST age group.

Performance of the day goes to Roshan Mowat in the inter boys who jumped another PB in the high jump – jumping 1.85m – bearing in mind that the is only 1.82m tall, this is a fantastic achievement!
