Magdalen College School’s UCAS cohort have gained 46 Oxbridge offers.

This is in a context of consistent success – 129 offers over the past three years. Over that same period, MCS has produced 57 potential medics, meaning that over 12% of each cohort goes on to study Medicine.

In addition, pupils from Oxfordshire schools involved in our Community and Outreach projects have also achieved tremendous success in this regard – in Maths, three children from Cheney and one from Oxford Spires Academy have secured Oxbridge offers, while one student from Matthew Arnold School will go to Cambridge to study medicine.

MCS students go on to a wide range of degrees: the current Upper Sixth includes 14 engineers and 14 historians, and others who want to study an immense range of subjects including Arabic, Computing, Classics, Music and Architecture.

One student will undertake a degree at Lipscomb University in the USA whilst developing his golf at the highest level.

The Master said: ‘It is great when pupils who contribute so much within school and beyond are rewarded for their high aspirations. I am also delighted to see similar success amongst students at our outreach partnership schools, many of whom have attended sessions alongside our students.’
