Last week, our J3 pupils went on a trip to the Winchester Science Centre, kicking off their day with an action-packed workshop all about space and light. The boys got hands-on with some thrilling experiments and discovered how satellites are made and how they detect light.

Following the workshops, they headed into The Planetarium. A massive 360° screen surrounded the room with incredible sights and sounds as J3 were transported to the stars with an awe-inspiring show about our solar system!

Afterwards, the boys then had some free exploration time across the Centre’s two floors of interactive science exhibits. This included scientific research currently being conducted in UK universities in the ‘Bringing Research to Life’ exhibit, showcasing discoveries from the ocean floor and what the scientists are doing with bugs and germs. The ‘Beneath the Blue’ exhibit took pupils on an amazing voyage that illustrated what can be found on the seabed and what we need to do to care for our oceans and keep fish safe.
