Magdalen College School is proud to have signed the Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Charter. The Charter has been developed by the Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership and was launched at an event at Oxford’s Old Fire Station on 24 January 2023.

The Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership is a group of more than 100 organisations working together to create a more equal and sustainable region that generates opportunities and benefits for all people within the county. The Partnership is working to tackle some of the region’s biggest problems to produce a fairer environment where everyone can contribute and share success.

There are a number of pledges within the Charter that signatories commit to making, including:

  • Supporting the local and social economy
  • Offering opportunities into work
  • Recruiting inclusively
  • Improving training and educational attainment
  • Sharing resources, skills and assets
  • Providing fair wages

By signing the Charter, Magdalen College School has demonstrated its commitment to making Oxfordshire a fairer and more inclusive place to live and work.

In September 2022, MCS was the first school in Oxford to become an Oxford Living Wage Employer. This will have having a positive and lasting impact on the MCS staff community, and the wider city of Oxford, both now and in the future.
