Dr Alexandra Lloyd from the University of Oxford delivered a lecture about the White Rose movement to all MCS German learners in year 9 to 13, together with 50 students from 3 other schools in Big School. The White Rose project is a research and engagement initiative created at the University exploring the story of the anti-Nazi resistance circle ‘The White Rose’.
The lecture was followed by a workshop around the pamphlets (Flugblätter) of the Nazi resistance and the students’ design of their own leaflets. The 22nd February marks the 80th anniversary of the execution of Hans and Sophie Scholl, two of the members of the group.
