93 Second Form boys enjoyed a three-day residential trip on the beautiful north Devon coast over the half-term break. They developed teamwork skills in tackling a tricky assault course, overcame barriers (literal and mental) in scaling a climbing wall and high ropes course, and largely avoided unplanned soakings whilst kayaking on the river Torridge.

The instructors commented on the boys’ enthusiasm (easily measured by the amount of noise they made!) and on their willingness to help each other through difficulties. This was firmly in evidence during a day’s hike across the spectacular Hartland peninsula, which involved a very windy cliff-top section and some highly entertaining bouldering on the beach.

Thanks to all the staff who gave up their holiday to make the trip possible.
