Pupils at Magdalen College School are once again celebrating their GCSE results.  The grades were awarded following a three-week exam period, in order to make the process both as rigorous and fair as possible.

Master, Helen Pike said: “Pupils at Magdalen College School are fortunate in that they were able to continue with their learning despite being locked down. That said, they have more than risen to the many challenges they have faced, and have in many cases worked harder than ever before. These strong results are in part testament to that, and pupils should be proud of their achievements while acknowledging the support they have received from their teachers and their families.

We look forward to all that these pupils will contribute to the wider life of the school, and to their successes in the new school year”.

Notable individual achievements include Ed Fry who achieved ten 9 grades in addition to winning the U16 South West Golf Championships, and Kasper Buist who continued his GCSE studies whilst undergoing radiotherapy for a rare childhood cancer. Together with his twin brother Tristan, the boys achieved an impressive seventeen 9 and 8 grades between them.
