Dear OWs and Friends,
Six months ago this week, the doors of our MCS site closed to students, bar the children of key workers. After substantial alterations to day-to-day life (a new timetable, one-way systems, perspex screens, and “bubble”-d yeargroups, to name but a few), school is now up and running with aplomb, embracing the challenges that September 2020 pose.
New Pupil Services have still taken place in Magdalen College chapel, and students are enjoying summer sports on School Field (can any OWs remember September Cricket and Tennis being played there?). Meanwhile, the Drama department is already rehearsing and casting the Sixth Form play Romeo and Juliet, and Music is offering an immense variety of chamber groups across the year groups. Choristers are also hard at work preparing for this term’s Virtual Services, which we look forward to sharing with you.
In this edition of our e-news, we open with Chapel by the Master and celebrate MCS success on the cricket pitch, while also welcoming OWs’ submissions for The Bridge 2021. Additionally, we share with you MCS’s Trinity term newsletter here.

We are now taking submissions for The Bridge 2021!
Send in your News and Notes via the online form, or email the Waynflete Office.
We also need your recollections of school uniform. What did you wear? How strictly was the dress code enforced? Any memorable fashion trends or sartorial stand-outs? Please share your memories of school uniforms with us for The Bridge by emailing Kathryne Crossley.
We are always delighted to be able to include your updates in the OW magazine. Deadline for submissions is Friday 23 November. |
